My cousin Ben Hatch had his latest book published this month. This isn’t his first book – he’s actually written several and some in combination with his wife. This latest book, and the one previous, is about road trips in a car with his family. If you’ve ever gone on a road trip with kids you will totally relate to it. They are really humorous books and both have made me laugh out loud! This time his family rent out their house for the summer and head to France. As a child growing up we would always travel to France – on at least one occasion with my cousins (that was the year of the ladybirds/ladybugs but that’s another layout in its own right). So this book was especially close to home for me. That being said even if you haven’t traveled in a car round France I’m sure you can relate to the issues of traveling with kids. The book isn’t yet available in print in the US yet but you can purchase the Kindle version on Amazon here or you can order it from one of the companies who are shipping it from the UK.
His previous book Are We Nearly There Yet?: A Family’s 8000-Mile Car Journey Around Britain is also available.
If you do read them come back and let me know what you think! I personally think they are some of best travel books I’ve read. I’m a big fan of Bill Bryson and I think they are comparable. I’d love to know what you think. Also if you need some of the British humor translating let me know.
As a scrapper I wanted to add something to my family album to record this. Thankfully my sister took some pictures at the book signing and shared them with me so I was able to create a page about the family author.
