Ladybug Hugs!

Chelle’s Creations released a new kit this week full of bright colors, butterflies and ladybugs – no I mean ladybirds. When did a ladybird become a bug?? I’m guessing about 5 years into living here in Texas. This prompts me to wonder why we use different words for the same thing…..I know its not a bird but its also not a bug it’s a beetle so we’re all wrong. I found this on the web which tells the story of how this beetle got its name if your interested!

We digress this is a scrapbooking blog not a blog about bugs or birds! You will see though from the preview of Chelle’s Kit she made some really cute ones with her felt!

These colors just make you smile! When I was trying to come up with something to scrap with them I couldn’t come up with any current pictures so off I went to the large box of pictures which I haven’t scrapped for my paper scrapbooking days! The good news was last weekend a got a new printer/scanner – the old one I had decided not to scan. That’s not quite true it would scan but it would decide what it would scan and wouldn’t allow me to change its mind so it had to go. I decided to go for a Canon this time as I also wanted a photo quality printer for those occasions I wanted to print a photo. So the Canon Pixma MG8200 found a new home and I’ve been very happy so far. The quality of the photo prints are excellent and it prints them really fast. Scanning is easy and I love the software settings.

So armed with some newly scanned pictures from 2001 and this great kit. I got to work and this is what I came up with.

At this age Eleanor wore pink most of time so finding so pictures of her in red was great and the bush in the garden was in full bloom of yellow flowers!

I’m glad to be getting some of these pictures scrapped. There is a 18 month period of our life not scrapped. Not that I stopped scrapping for a period but I was scrapping chronologically at the time and it was suggested to me that I should stop working on the old pictures and should skip to current pictures and work on the current memories as they were fresh and the old memories would remain ‘old’. Well they certainly did. 10 years later they still remain unscrapped so I really want to get scanning and getting them added to the books. This is while I remain basically up to date. I lot to ask but I’m thinking if I do one old for every 2 current it should work. There is no stress here – what gets done get done. I mean my kids are blessed as they will inherit my scrapbook which is more than I inherited!
