I seem to be on a roll with scrapbooking pages without pictures. Its not something I’ve really done before so I’m not sure why in this week alone I have done three! It started with seeing a post on Debbie Hodges website by Tanyia Deskins.
When I saw this layout it spoke to me. I knew I wanted to do something similar and this is what I came up with
I used the newest kit from Chelle’s Creations – Hero’s [EMT] and the story I decided to scrapbook was about when I was 11 and run over by car. As you can see the layout designs is a total lift from the original layout. It was perfect way of presenting a long story without pictures. Even if I wasn’t 11 I don’t think I’d of taken pictures in the ambulance – even if I did have my IPhone with me! Nowadays we usually have a camera with us as we have our phone but I still think there are occasions like this that we don’t think to or are unable to take a picture and so using a layout design like this will get the story down. Its even easier when you have a great themed kit like this one from Chelle.
The second layout I did without pictures this week was part of the Iron Scrapper Week 2 Challenge at Scrap Orchard. The bonus part of the challenge just happened to be to do a layout without pictures. So to get the five points for this week I had to do a layout using the grab bag, with 5 clouds and without pictures. Once I’d downloaded the grab bag I knew the part of the grab bag that I really liked was from Captivated Visions. I decided to do a layout about clouds on the horizon in life which I could add to my “All about Me” album. I used a great template also from Captivated Vision. Now I look at this layout I think it could be my first art journaling page! I didn’t know I had it in me…….
So then came my third page without pictures this week. When I started this I wasn’t sure what I was even scrapping. I had a template from simple scrapper which I needed to use for an assignment on grid scrapping. I also had my files from the Digi Files June download which I hadn’t used much and felt I wanted to put to some use. So I just started and I found some great elements about people saying things and quotes. Then things started to come together and the light blub came one and I realized that I wanted to scrap a layout for Eleanor’s album. Her status updates on Facebook can be so deep and meaningful and other times they can be really funny! I just loved a recent one when she called a day “Nerd Christmas” so I decided to do a layout called “Nerd Christmas”.
Template – Simple Scrapper

Deca Designs Digi
River Rose Boy Stories
Tracey Reed Hello goodbye
Julianna Kneipp Love Vacations
In the end this layout ended up being my favorite of the week! I love the colors from the kit by Tracey Reed – Hello Goodbye. I hope she will like it when she see’s it printed.
So three very different layouts and all without pictures. Not so hard to do when you get into it. I think they are great way of getting feelings into my scrapbooking when you don’t have the perfect picture. Scrapbooking isn’t just about the pictures. The stories are equally important so give it a try and see what you come up with!
